Convention Programme 2024

Convention is Back!

This year Convention will be held at the Kents Hill Park Conference & Training Centre, Milton Keynes over the weekend of 13th-15th September.

 

Friday 13th September

As with previous Conventions, Convention will start on the Friday evening with an informal welcome reception. An informal buffet will also be available throughout the evening so that Members can eat as and when they arrive.

 

Saturday 14th September

Convention Saturday will see a packed day of activities with the exhibition, medal fair and talks being held. 

Exhibition

Always a major highlight and talking point, the exhibition always covers a wide variety of themes including the multiple military campaigns, regimental histories, the emergency services, gallantry, long service, foreign decorations and awards and the commonplace and the obscure.

Members wanting to exhibit should complete the Exhibit section of the booking form.

Speaker Programme

We are delighted to announce that this year's visiting speakers are from:

The Royal Mint

Medal Fair

As usual, there will be a selection of well-known medal dealers including the main auction houses of A.H. Baldwins, Noonans and Spink.

Prizes, Honours & Awards

At the end of the day's proceedings the prizes, and Society honours and awards will be presented.

Annual Dinner

After what will have been a packed day of activities, there will be another opportunity to relax and catch up with friends and colleagues at the Saturday evening dinner.

 

Sunday 15th September

We are intending to organise a private guided trip to the Bletchley Park Museum which is a 10-12 minute drive from Kents Hill. The visit will include a one hour guided tour and then you will be free to enjoy the museum at your leisure. The guide price for the visit is approx. £25-30/person and trip will go ahead subject to minimum numbers being achieved. Please indicate your interest when making your booking.
